Ingredient Information and Substitutes

  • Hardboiled Eggs: The base of this salad; can substitute with diced tofu for a vegetarian twist.
  • Green Onion: Adds freshness and a mild onion flavor; substitute with chives or red onion for variation.
  • Mayonnaise: Provides creaminess; swap with Greek yogurt or a light mayo for a healthier option.
  • Honey: Adds a slight sweetness; replace with maple syrup or omit for less sweetness.
  • Lemon Juice: Balances flavors and adds brightness; lime juice works as an alternative.
  • Salt and Pepper: Enhances and balances the flavors—adjust to taste.

Cooking Tips and Advice

  • Perfect Hardboiled Eggs: Add eggs in boiling water for about 8-9 minutes. Use an ice bath to stop the cooking process and make peeling easier.
  • Chill Before Serving: Allow the salad to sit in the fridge for at least an hour to meld flavors.
  • Customize It: Add diced celery for crunch, paprika for a smoky touch, or Dijon mustard for a bit of tang.
