Turmeric fish stew with rice, quick and easy

This turmeric fish stew is a must-try for adding more delicious and healthy recipes to your dinner rotation.

Cook Time 30 minutes

Ingredients

  • 4 white fish filets such as cod or swai
  • 2-3 tomatoes roughly chopped
  • 1 yellow onion roughly chopped
  • 4 garlic cloves
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tbsp turmeric
  • 1 tbsp chili powder
  • 1 tbsp ginger powder
  • 1 tsp hing
  • 1/2 cup water
  • Cilantro for garnish

Instructions

  • Season the fish with salt and pepper.
  • In a food processor, blitz the onion, garlic, and tomatoes until blended.
  • Heat a pot or wok to medium-high heat. When it’s ready, pour in the tomato and onion mixture. Bring it to a boil and stir.
  • Add in the spices: salt, pepper, turmeric, ginger powder, chili powder, and hing. Give it a good mix until well combined.
  • Add in the fish, cover, and lower the heat. Let it simmer on low for about 10 minutes.
  • Uncover and turn off the heat. Mix in the yogurt and adjust for any seasonings. Garnish with cilantro and serve on rice. Enjoy!
